Opinion Wrong
The Lansing State Journal Published 5/26/2003 Monday's letters to the editor Opinion wrong I'm writing in response to your May 15 abortion bill editorial. The editorial stated that the bills allow what doctors call "dilation and extraction" in situations where the woman's health is threatened." Nothing could be farther from the truth. The bills are worded so vaguely and broadly that they do not refer to any medical procedure and would actually ban all abortions, not just late-term (so-called "partial-birth") abortions. The bills prevent women from exercising a constitutionally protected right over their own bodies. Your editorial was misleading and filled with misinformation. Kelly Hamilton DeWitt
