Michigan Can Now PLAN FIRST!
Michigan is now enrolling women in the new state Medicaid waiver program called Plan First! It is designed to provide family planning services to hundreds of thousands of women statewide.
For women who do not have insurance coverage for family planning services, or do not qualify for Medicaid, this program may help pay for out-of-pocket costs related to reproductive health care. Plan First! covers office visits for family planning related services such as lab tests and birth control supplies and devices such as condoms, the Pill, the Patch and the Ring. Plan First! provides one year of services to women at Planned Parenthood who: - Are age 19-44 years - Are U.S. citizens or qualified immigrants - Are Michigan residents - Meet monthly family income limits (up to 185% of Federal Poverty Level guidelines) - Have a Social Security number or have applied for one - Are not receiving Medicaid - Are not pregnant For more information contact your local family planning clinic or click here for the MI Department of Community Health Application.
